Data Protection Act
If you have CCTV cameras which can record images of the public, you need to register, and you need to manage your CCTV system according to a number of rules. The Act itself is quite complex, but we have put together some simple guidance notes, explaining what you need to do, which can be downloaded from this site. They also contain a link to the Data Registrar, allowing you to register your system on-line.
Covert CCTV Rental
The Data Protection Act restricts the use of permanent installations of hidden cameras, but temporary installations for specific purposes are permitted. We provide short-term rentals of covert systems, and can advise on the legal as well as the practical issues.
Closed Circuit TV.
We are CCTV specialists and can advise on the latest developments in high speed surveillance domes, digital recording, networking and remote transmission. But, if you want nothing more than a simple camera on your office entrance, we can help there to.
Access Control.
Multi-size networked systems, based on swipe cards, proximity tokens or even biometric readers recognising finger or hand prints. Or we can supply and install a single door audio entry system, for less than £1000.
Monitored Systems.
Remotely monitored CCTV systems can provide highly effective security, at a fraction of the cost of on-site guards. We can connect your system to a choice of local or national monitoring stations, who, if you have an incident, can call the police, call you, or even communicate with your site via a loudspeaker if you wish.
Nurse Call.
Our first choice of system for Nurse Call is SAS Network II which is a well-proven system which is simple and state-of-the-art in design, and has proved to be exceptionally reliable in use.
Staff Attack.
The SAS Red Alert staff attacks system works on similar lines to the Nurse Call system but, in addition to the fixed push
button call points, staff are able to use a portable alarm transmitter which is always with them. Infra red receivers in the
building or even outside the building are able to pin point the location of any staff member who required help.
Maintenance.
All security systems need to be serviced properly to keep them effective, or to comply with the Data Protection Act, in the case of some CCTV systems. We can provide regular preventive maintenance, and call-out response, whether or not your system was originally supplied by KSS.
Automatic Gates and Barriers.
Vehicle barriers, sliding gates, pedestrian gates and turnstiles. We can advise on what you need, and install equipment from a choice of European manufacturers. Operation can be stand alone, or linked in with your existing access control system.
Case Studies: KSS Provide Security Solutions for Redevelopment Thefts.
Spectrum Properties approached KSS, to develop an effective electronic security system, which would cover
the building both externally and internally, including access to the roof via the scaffolding. KSS installed long-range passive infra red movement detectors covering the internal spaces and ground and first floor levels, together with point-to-point
active infra red beams on the scaffolding on all four sides of the building. In total,
11 high-resolution CCTV cameras, equipped with built-in infra red lighting provided effective surveillance 24 hours per day.
